Ry joined Collett as General Counsel in 1992 after practicing law for three years with the Charlotte law firm Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman (now part of K&L Gates). In 1995, he was named a partner and has since focused his career on retail and mixed use development. Ry's projects have included numerous power centers and mixed use projects in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. These projects have featured retailers such as Target, Lowe's, Kohl's, Home Depot, Best Buy and BJ's Wholesale Club. These projects have included several successful public-private partnerships. Ry has handled as lead developer or joint venture partner all aspects of numerous projects, starting with land acquisition, entitlements and anchor tenant negotiations and ending with execution of the decision to either permanently finance or sell completed projects.
As noted by Ry, "At the conclusion of our development efforts, my goal and hope is that all of the project's constituencies, including the tenants, local communities, our partners, and our vendors, are pleased with and proud of the final product."
