Taco Mama snags spot in Charlotte’s Dilworth neighborhood
This Alabama-based taco bar concept expects to open its first restaurant this summer.
MPV Properties says Taco Mama has signed a deal for a 2,520-square-foot spot in Dilworth, in the Park Square Small Shops. That newly developed project sits at the corner of Park Road and McDonald Avenue.
Will Black with Collett represented Taco Mama, and Robbie Adams with MPV represented the landlord, Marsh Properties, in the transaction.
Plans call for Taco Mama to open this summer, with up to 50 full- and part-time employees.
This will be the first Charlotte location. The brand’s only other North Carolina store is in Greensboro.
Expect that fast-casual restaurant to dish up freshly prepared tacos, burritos and nachos. There’s an option to build your own or have taco and burrito baskets served “our way.”
Dishes utilize premium slow-roasted meats such as barbacoa, pork, chorizo made with fresh-ground meat as well as chicken, grilled shrimp as well as a veggie mix. Toppings include options such as jalapeños — grilled, pickled or fresh— queso fresco, cilantro lime rice, chorizo refried beans and ancho chile slaw. There’s also fresh salsas and sauces.
Hand-shaken margaritas are made with fresh juices, and seasonal offerings such as watermelon and blood orange margaritas are available.
“We know our festive atmosphere and fresh, diverse menu is going to be a hit with vibrant Dilworth and the surrounding neighborhoods,” says Will Haver, founder and owner of Taco Mama.
Catering services will also be available. Options include nacho and taco bars, burrito boxes and quesadilla trays.
The space will offer a casual, yet funky and fun atmosphere with garage doors that open to outside. Music will be highlighted.
